The climate year of China

China is the most populous country in the world with more than one billion inhabitants. There is hardly any crime, therefore the country is one of the safest travel destinations at all. The official language is Mandarin. In tourist areas English is also spoken. In almost all hotels and stores you can pay with an international credit card. Most of the country is in the temperate zone, parts of southern China fall into the tropical and subtropical zone. The north of the country is on the edge of the cold zone. The climate is characterized by short, rather temperate summer months and a long and cold winter. In warm south it remains green all year round. In general, the months of May, September and October are particularly recommended for a trip.

General information about China

Beijing is considered the cultural capital of China: For sights such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven, you should plan enough time. The Great Wall can also be visited very well from Beijing. Also Shanghai is one of the destinations that you should definitely plan. The megacity represents modern, up-and-coming China. It welcomes its visitors with a breathtaking skyline of skyscrapers, but there are also architectural relics from the colonial era to discover. Nature lovers can best discover China's scenic beauty on the Yangtze, China's longest river. Cruises are particularly popular with tourists.

Tourism China

In the north and east, temperatures around freezing can be expected from November to January. From April, daytime temperatures rise significantly, reaching up to 30 °C in Beijing in June, for example. There are numerous rainy days during this month. In September, it gets up to 25 °C warm and even in October you can expect temperatures of almost 20 °C. It is not quite as cold in winter in Shanghai, the temperatures remain above freezing during the day. In the summer months it gets a bit hotter than in Beijing and it rains more often. In cities like Hong Kong, which is located in the southern part of the country, sub-zero temperatures are not reached during the winter months. The coldest months can be in January, but even then the temperature rarely drops below 13 °C. From June to September it gets up to 30 °C and it rains frequently. Even in December, temperatures reach up to 20 °C.
