Due to its favorable location in the southern Mediterranean, Formentera is characterized by a uniform and mild climate throughout the year. Thus, even in summer, pleasant temperatures are characteristic, since the flat relief of the island, which has only a few elevations, does not resist the cooling wind. Thus, Formentera presents itself as a sunny and warm island, whose climate, however, would never be burdened by great heat. The island, spoiled by the sun - on average Formentera gets up to 300 sunny days a year - shows an increase in sunshine hours from April with eight hours, to a maximum of eleven hours in July and August. Even in October, the sun still shines for a remarkable seven hours. Rainfall is concentrated in the months from October to March, with Formentera being the least rainy island of the Balearic Islands, due to the absence of mountains. In the main tourist season, from May to September, Formentera has the highest temperatures, but spring - very attractive due to the blossoming and fresh nature - and autumn are also highly recommended times to travel.
