The climate year of Hurghada

Within 20 years the small fishing village Hurghada has developed into the tourist stronghold at the Red Sea. Not least because of the good climatic conditions there, which allow a beach vacation throughout the year. In addition, there are the optimal winds for surfers, the coral-rich reefs and schools of fish for divers and snorkelers, and the nearby desert regions for jeep, motorcycle or quad safaris. Hurghada consists of El Dahar, the old town where typical Egyptian life still pulsates, Al-Ahiaa, north of El Dahar, with many hotels under construction and Al-Sakkala, the tourist district with many restaurants, stores and hotels. Hurghada is characterized by the few rainfalls, which fall largely and in small numbers in the mild winter months. Hurghada is wonderfully embedded in the eastern part of the Arabian Desert and not far from the breathtaking Giftun Islands. This is the reason for the climate of Hurghada.

General information about Hurghada

Hurghada's coastal areas with their coral reefs are considered a tourist attraction. Snorkeling and diving are popular, for example, in Makadi Bay in the areas near the beach. Hurghada's old town also has its charms. Typical local eateries and teahouses are just as attractive as the local bazaars. If you are looking for something more historical, you will find the Coptic St. Shinuda Father of the Hermits Church in the ad-Dahar district, which was built in British style in 1922. All hotels offer excursions to Cairo or Luxor. However, the most important tourist attraction are the diving areas of the Red Sea. Here you can book everything from diving or snorkeling taster courses to diving cruises. For surfers, the constant wind of Hurghada's coastal region is ideal and deep sea fishing is also offered. Who would not like to get wet, books a journey with the submarine to the reefs or goes on jeep tour, with the Quad or motorcycle into the desert. Besides, the countless Egyptian bazaars and shopping miles are popular with tourists and in the evening you can have fun in the bars or discos of Hurghada.

Tourism Hurghada

At the end of the year, that is from December to March of the following year, the maximum temperatures of the day in Hurghada are very fluctuating. They are similar to the temperatures in Germany at the end of spring. However, the minimum temperatures in these months in Hurghada are around the autumn temperatures in Germany, so it is already quite cool in the evenings and nights. From April to November the summer temperatures are above the German temperatures of the summer months and are quite constant. The nights are pleasantly warm and summery during this time. Because of this climate, there are 8 to 13 hours of sunshine throughout the year. The shorter sunshine hours refer to the months of November to March. In the months of April to October the sunshine hours vary between 10 and 12 per day. In Hurghada you can find pleasant water temperatures all year round. In the summer months the sea has "bathing water temperature" and in the winter months it is still pleasant, but more refreshing. Not to be compared with the winter water temperatures of the North Sea or the Baltic Sea.
