The village is located on a peninsula. This peninsula is partly bordered by the Mactan Channel. Due to its location, the island is known for special hot spells. The tropical character gives the island a tendency to heavier rainy days. Thus, in several months up to 14 rainy days are possible. Furthermore, the island is so well protected that it is spared snow, fog or hail days. Also, due to its location, tornadoes do not develop. In addition, the island is spared from cold, frost and ice days, so guests can look forward to a relaxing vacation.
To a large extent, the image of the island is determined by Lapu-Lapu. Furthermore, some smaller islands and parts of the Olango Archipelago belong to the city. The good weather justifies many an excursion, for example to the Mactan Export Processing Zone or to the Marcelo Fernan Bridge Park. Other excursions include Vano Beach, Marina Mall and Mactan Coral Golf Club. All these nearby attractions give the city a special image that invites you to stay especially in the months of June and Lent. Furthermore, the hosts in San Vincente Marine Sanctuary as well as in Caohagan Island are looking forward to your visit. You can also visit the statue in Lapu Lapue. It is considered the landmark of the island and is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.
