The village is located on a peninsula. This peninsula is partly bordered by the Mactan Channel. Due to its location, the island is known for special hot spells. The tropical character gives the island a tendency to heavier rainy days. Thus, in several months up to 14 rainy days are possible. Furthermore, the island is so well protected that it is spared snow, fog or hail days. Also, due to its location, tornadoes do not develop. In addition, the island is spared from cold, frost and ice days, so guests can look forward to a relaxing vacation.

To a large extent, the image of the island is determined by Lapu-Lapu. Furthermore, some smaller islands and parts of the Olango Archipelago belong to the city. Other weather characteristics include the thunderstorm season, which lasts from April to December. The thunderstorm phase is particularly weak in April and December. Guests can expect thunderstorms on a maximum of three days. Cold days are not to be expected in the Philippines, but heat days. The heat is particularly strong with about 29 days in April and 30 days in May. A major heat phase also awaits vacationers in the period from June to October with 27 to 28 heat days. Comfortable walks are possible during the dry hours, as there is a wind force of three to four knots. The wind comes from the northeast throughout the year.
