The climate year of Santorini

In July and August, a strong northerly wind blows over Santorini, making the high temperatures bearable, reducing humidity and literally spiriting away clouds. Santorini offers moderate temperatures year-round and severe winters with snow are rare, despite the Cyclades. The sunny island offers geologically spectacular phenomena in a very small area. The effects of the Minoan eruption, to which the present island owes its shape, are still visible today. The volcanism on Santorini is caused by the collision of the European and African plates. Thus, the myth of Atlantis goes back to the Minoan eruption, which is considered the birth of Atlantis.
