The climate year of Mallorca

Due to the island location, the winters in Mallorca are always short and have a mild and humid character. On the south and east coast of the island, however, it is never particularly cold. In contrast, at the same time of year it is much colder on the north and west coasts, as there are many mountains in these parts of the island and the relief is generally much hillier than in the southern and eastern parts. Therefore, it snows there also significantly more. The other seasons are characterized by a - for the Mediterranean regions typical - Mediterranean climate. Due to the subtropical winds, it is therefore always cooler on the coasts than in the interior of the island.

General information about Mallorca

For tourists, there is much to discover in the capital of the sunny island of Palma de Mallorca. Especially its old town is always worth a visit. There you will find La Lonja, not only an old commodity exchange, which amazes you with its uniquely built interiors, but also many Gothic church buildings. An architectural highlight that you will not forget for the rest of your life is the La Seu Cathedral. It is even considered the most important sight of the whole island. There are also two museums in the region. One of them presents interesting exhibits from ancient times, the other one gives you an insight into the artistic creativity of the old masters, such as Gauguin, Picasso and Cézanne. For those who want to see more of Mallorca's nature, in the south of the island there is the Archipiélago de Cabrera National Park, which is the only national park in the Balearic Islands. It offers protection and a home to many endangered species. For an extensive bathing fun you should visit one of the picturesque beaches, such as Cala Varques or Cala Agulla.

Tourism Mallorca

Since it is not really cold in Mallorca throughout the year, it is also possible to spend a comfortable vacation on the island in winter. During the winter months of December, January, February and March there are usually mild temperatures. Only in the rarest cases there are snowfalls. Rain is also one of the exceptions. Therefore, the average temperature at this time of year is 16 degrees, which is very much compared to the temperatures in the north Europe. From mid-March to mid-June, the average temperatures are again much higher. These lie between 19 and 28 degrees. Thus, already in spring there is bathing weather on the island, which attracts numerous tourists. The probability of precipitation is also lower than during the winter. It has recently been measured that there are only 5 rainy days on average in the spring months on Mallorca. In July and August it is warmest on Mallorca with an average temperature of about 30 degrees. At this time, the temperature sometimes even rises above 40 degrees. Towards the end of the summer it gets a bit colder again, so that the average temperature in September is only 27 degrees. In the fall, there is an even more significant drop in temperature, so that it is 15 to 24 degrees in the fall.
