The climate year of Liverpool

Liverpool has cool summers and mild winters. Temperatures average above freezing throughout the year. The ideal time to visit the very old city is between April and September. The city was founded in 1207 and originally served as a troop base. For a long time Liverpool was quite insignificant and had hardly more than 500 inhabitants. It was not until the beginning of the 18th century that the city's economic boom began with the slave trade. In the 19th century Liverpool already had one of the most important world trade ports Europe. Goods were exported all over the world - the city grew rapidly and steadily. Liverpool experienced many ups and downs over the years. In 2008, the city became the European Capital of Culture. As a result, culture and tourism are among the main sources of income for the reviving city. Liverpool is a city of contrasts, where old and new, rich and poor coexist.
